Ministry List Definitions

Audio Visual – Comprised of men and women who operate and maintain equipment used to amplify, record and display sound and images at all church services and events in support of the vision of the Pastor and Church as they proclaim the Good New of Jesus Christ to worshippers, viewers and listeners.
Baptism/Follow-Up – Comprised of men and women who coordinate and assist all members and converts with baptism at the church, including dressing and management of the actual baptism. They coordinate and manage the intake of all new members, following-up on their transition to membership at the church, including any personal situations or spiritual needs that need attention.
Covenant Keepers – Comprised of married couples who come together monthly for fellowship, prayer and share to experiences, topics and discussions about marital relationships in a godly environment.
Deacons – Comprised of men of dignity of the church who have are personally selected by the Pastor and meet monthly. They assist the Pastor in his duties and service to the church and community, including caring for the people, keeping unity in the church, edifying and uniting the church, support the ministries and serve by visiting the sick, counseling those in need, praying for those in need, administer communion, assist in community services and look after of the spirit well-being of the church as a whole.
Deaconess – Comprised of the wives of the Deacons who meet monthly and assist their husband in their duties. They also manage and prepare the monthly communion service for the church, giving attention to the aged and members of the church.
Economic Development Board/Trustee – Comprised of men and women who manage and oversee the financial and business matters of the church with spiritual sensibility. They are responsible for maintaining and protecting the church physical property, financial obligations, records, repairs and needed changes, evaluate/maintain needs for community growth and development, and all other assets the enable the execution of the God’s mission through the church’s through stewardship, leadership and divine direction.
Christian Education/Youth Department – Comprised of men and women who administer and manage all Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, special training for all new members and leaders of the church. They coordinate and manage all teaching, training and educational services offered at the church with classes and programs for the church and all youth members and leaders of the church. They coordinate and manage all teaching, training and educational services offered at the church with classes and programs for the members in various settings, youth with a dialogue as to what it means to be a follower of Jesus and live in love and unity, sharing vision and gifts and mutual fellowship and provide resources throughout the year.
Loving Hearts – Comprised of women and mean that quietly work and assist with the greeting of worshippers as they enter. They offer instructions and directions to all who enter, and extend a personal welcome during all morning worship services.
Ministers – Comprised of men and women ordained and called by God provide counseling and care to members of the church, congregation and community. They look after the spiritual well-being of all members of the body and feed the flock by delivering the word of God at every gathering and service held. They serve at communion, baptism, wedding, funerals, visitations, community meetings and any organized activities needed in both the church and community.
Mission – Comprised of men and women who pray and fellowship with anyone in need. They endeavor to answer the mandate commission by God to go tell the good news, and minister to anyone in need within the church or community, including those are sick, hospitalized, nursing homes, senior citizen residences, or just need visitation, someone to talk to or a kind ear to listen.
Mothers – Comprised of senior women of the church who serve as spiritual mothers of the church and have persevered in faith and valuable wisdom regarding spiritual and personal matters. They are saved and impart wisdom and prayer to the younger generation.
Music Ministry – Comprised of musicians and four choirs: Mass Choir, James Bass Male Chorus, Joy Voices and Joy Choir. The ministries render musical selections during all services at the church, outings, community events and special events. The objective is to support the vision of the Pastor and proclaim the Good New of Jesus Christ to listeners by leading the congregation in worship and praise through song.
Nurses – Comprised of men and women who offer medical assistance to members as needed. They have been trained in first aid and CPR many are registered or licenses nurses or members of the medical field. They sponsor programs for medical screen and distribute information on health issues to the congregation and responsible for their health, social, and emotional care.
Pastoral Care – Comprised of men and women who are charged with the responsibility of looking after the physical well-being of the Pastor and 1st Lady of the church.
Performing Arts – Comprised of the Drill Team, Praise Dancers, Mimes, Step Team and Vandella Dixon Drama Team. Consists of men, women and youth of the church and provide worship opportunities for through the art of drama, dancing and music. They minister to the congregation as part of the worship service.
Sarita K. McKenzie Scholarship – Comprised of men and women who help to prepare and assist members who are pursuing higher education in obtaining scholarship and financial assistance, recognizing that our youth and children are our most precious resource and will be fundamental in continuing the vision to build the future of the church and our community.
Security Ministry – Comprised of single men and women who monitor and authorize entrance and departure of members, visitors, and other persons to church premises and guard, preserve order and protect church premises and property.
Singles Ministry – Comprised of single men and women who come together for fellowship, prayer and to share experiences, topics and discussions of singlehood and their relationships in a godly environment.
Ushers – Comprised of Young Adult and Senior Ushers, endeavors to maintain order in God’s house in love and in the spirit of God, extending a hand of fellowship to all that come into the house of worship.
Women of Faith/Men of Valor – Comprised of women and men, respectively, who come together in prayer and fellowship with the mission to motivate, encourage and celebrate godly Godly women and men in general. They sponsor events, seminars and banquets to share the messages and encourage men and women from the community and all walks of life.
